25 printable Christmas elf letters that bring Alfie back for one final December adventure, with no elf doll required.
Alfie is back for Year Three.
And by now, he feels less like a mysterious Christmas visitor and more like an old friend.
Year Three is created for families who have already completed The Elf Letters – Year One and Year Two and are ready to step even deeper into Alfie’s strange, funny and wonderfully imaginative world.
The Elf Letters are designed to grow with your child. Year Three contains longer stories, richer language, more callbacks to earlier adventures and an even bigger world to explore — while keeping the humour, mischief and Christmas magic children already know and love.
Some familiar characters and traditions return.
Some new mysteries appear.
And Alfie still has plenty of surprises left.
ALFIE RETURNS — AGAIN
Alfie has been waiting all year to come back.
He packs his suitcase, leaves his little cottage in Trollbäcken in Sweden and climbs aboard the Tuff Tuff Train for another December with the family. From December 1st through Christmas Day, children discover a new letter from Alfie every day.
As always, Alfie is never actually seen. Instead, children discover him through his letters, clues, pranks, mysteries and all the peculiar things that seem to happen while everyone is asleep.
By Year Three, Alfie knows the family well. He remembers previous Christmases. He expects them to remember his strange traditions. And the children already know that when Alfie is around, almost anything can happen.
You never see him. But you know he was here.
STEP EVEN FURTHER INTO ALFIE’S WORLD
Year Three expands Alfie’s world even further. Children meet familiar friends such as Mumbleglum, Grumblehat, Marshmane, the Cupboard Tuffle and the Freezeleezers, while discovering new stories, traditions and wonderfully strange ideas.
There are invisible messages to reveal.
Ridiculous riddles to solve.
A mysterious trail to follow.
The great Skromta Games.
Santa’s very serious Dice Workout.
A Christmas competition in Gingerbread Land.
Swedish gift rhymes.
Tuffle mischief.
And, of course, plenty of Alfie nonsense.
Some days bring an activity.
Some bring a prank or mystery.
Some invite the children to create, imagine, compete or solve something.
And some simply let them disappear into Alfie’s world for a little while.
The story is big. The setup doesn’t have to be.
No doll required.
No expensive props required.
No nightly pressure to create something elaborate.

ALFIE’S FINAL YEAR
Year Three is also a very special chapter.
At the end of the adventure, Alfie reveals that this will be the last year he can come and live with the family for a very long time.
He has been given an important new job: Alfie is going to become a teacher at the Elf Academy. There, he will teach young elves everything they need to know. And, as Alfie says... that is quite a lot.
But his final letter leaves one little door open. Perhaps another elf may find their way to the family one Christmas. It gives Alfie’s three-year adventure a real ending, without taking away the magic.
